Binding Agreement
Using PrivShare, with or without an account, means you accept these terms and our Privacy Notes.
The agreement that governs your use of PrivShare.
By accessing or using PrivShare you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. PrivShare is a zero-knowledge encrypted sharing tool, which means you are solely responsible for the content you encrypt and the keys that unlock it.
TL;DR: Use PrivShare lawfully, do not abuse it, and keep your own decryption keys safe. The service is provided “as is” without warranties, and because it is zero-knowledge, we cannot recover content or keys on your behalf.
What you agree to when you use the service
Using PrivShare, with or without an account, means you accept these terms and our Privacy Notes.
You must be legally able to enter into a contract and be at least the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction to use the service.
You retain all rights to content you share. PrivShare claims no ownership over the ciphertext you upload.
What is welcome, and what is prohibited
What zero-knowledge means for you
Decryption keys live in the share link fragment or in a password you set. You are responsible for delivering links securely and keeping passwords safe.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share content and that doing so complies with applicable laws and any agreements you are bound by.
If you register an account, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Shares are short-lived by design. Expiration, burn-after-reading, revocation, and deletion make shares permanently unavailable, so retrieve content in time.
The limits of what the service guarantees
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivShare is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, content, or decryption keys arising from your use of the service.
Because of the zero-knowledge architecture, there are things the service cannot do, even at your request:
We may suspend or remove access to shares or accounts that violate these terms, to the extent technically possible under the zero-knowledge model.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Continued use of PrivShare after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
